Point-in-Time Metrics

Some metrics are classified as Point-in-Time, meaning they represent an instantaneous state rather than an aggregated interval.
These are especially useful for indicators like exchange balances, current funding rates, or open interest.

Definition
A Point-in-Time metric is recorded whenever a new data event is observed, not at a fixed interval.

Examples

  • Current Open Interest (Derivatives)

  • Exchange Netflow (last block)

  • Realized Cap (instant state)

  • Funding Rate (latest settlement period)

Insights
These metrics provide real-time sensitivity, ideal for dashboards and trading models requiring minimal latency.
