Transaction Count

Measures the number of valid transactions recorded on the blockchain in a given period.

Overview
Transaction Count provides a broad view of network activity and user participation.
It excludes miner and internal transactions to better capture real usage.

Interpretation

  • 📈 More transactions = growth in demand and active addresses.

  • 📉 Fewer transactions = declining usage or consolidation phase.

Formula (Latex)

T r a n s a c t i o n C o u n t = ( V a l i d T r a n s a c t i o n s ) TransactionCount = \sum(ValidTransactions)
T r a n s a c t i o n s P e r S e c o n d = T r a n s a c t i o n C o u n t S e c o n d s i n t e r v a l TransactionsPerSecond = \frac{TransactionCount}{Seconds_{interval}}
T o t a l T r a n s f e r s = ( T r a n s f e r s   b e t w e e n   u n i q u e   a d d r e s s e s ) TotalTransfers = \sum(Transfers\ between\ unique\ addresses)

Signal
High transaction counts show strong network activity, often preceding on-chain fee increases.

Insights
Transaction Count tracks network engagement — a key metric for adoption, scalability, and economic throughput.
